James Johnson is a safety from Douglasville, Georgia, who attended Douglas County High School. As a senior, he recorded 45 receptions for 576 yards and 4 touchdowns on offense, while posting 57 tackles, 5 for loss with 1 sack, 5 pass breakups, 3 forced fumbles, 1 interception and 1 fumble recovery on defense. He was a preseason all-state selection that year. Johnson played in five games as a freshman at USC in 2025, recording five receptions. He now transfers to Middle Tennessee as a sophomore.
