Tyran Chappell is a transfer cornerback from Houston Christian who joined Michigan State for the spring 2026 semester. The 6'3", 189-pound Dallas native appeared in 14 games at HCU, recording 27 tackles and seven pass break-ups during the 2025 season. He tied for the Southland Conference lead with four interceptions that year, including an 82-yard return for a touchdown against Northern Colorado. Chappell earned first-team All-Southland Conference honors and was named to the Stats Perform FCS Freshman All-America Team. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining with the Spartans.
