Carlos Hazelwood is a transfer defensive lineman from Toledo who joined Michigan State for the spring semester in January 2026. The 6'4", 290-pound defender from Chicago, Illinois, earned all-state honors at Tinley Park High School, where he recorded 76 tackles and 18 tackles for loss during his senior season in 2023. At Toledo, Hazelwood appeared in two games as a freshman in 2024 to preserve his redshirt. During the 2025 season as a redshirt freshman, he played in nine games, logging 83 defensive snaps and four on special teams, with seven tackles (three solo, four assists), a half-tackle for loss, and one fumble recovery. Hazelwood has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
