Chase Smith is a 6'2", 240-pound linebacker from Palm Bay, Florida who joined Miami as a four-star recruit in 2021. Smith appeared in 11 games during his true freshman season, recording 13 tackles and one tackle for loss. After redshirting in 2022, he saw limited action in 2023 and 2024, appearing in four and 13 games respectively. In 2025 as a redshirt senior, Smith played in all 16 games and led the defense with 31 total tackles (15 solo) while adding two pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. He appeared in all three College Football Playoff contests, including the national championship game against Indiana on January 19.
