After redshirting as a true freshman in 2025 following 5 appearances, Shanklin recorded 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 solo tackles during his debut season. He earned 2025 SEC Academic Honor Roll recognition while majoring in sport administration. Now a redshirt freshman, Shanklin adds depth to LSU's edge rush group as he enters his second season with the Tigers.
