Sam Fongang is a safety from Mansfield, TX who attended Lake Ridge HS before playing at Tyler Junior College. At Tyler JC, he appeared in 10 games in 2024, recording 20 tackles and two fumble recoveries, including a 71-yard interception return for a touchdown against Cisco College on October 19. He also saw action in seven games during his first season at Tyler JC in 2023, finishing with 19 tackles. In his first season at Louisiana Tech in 2025, Fongang played in 12 games with one start in the Independence Bowl against Coastal Carolina on December 30, posting 21 total tackles with two pass breakups.
