Deshawn Purdie is a 6'4", 228-pound quarterback from Baltimore, Maryland who transferred to Liberty from Wake Forest. A three-star recruit in the 2024 class, Purdie began his college career at Charlotte as a true freshman in 2024, appearing in nine games and starting six contests. He completed 100-of-200 passes for 1,802 yards and 10 touchdowns, adding a rushing touchdown and recording four 200-yard passing performances. At Wake Forest in 2025, Purdie saw action in eight games and started twice—against Oregon State (270 passing yards, four touchdowns) and SMU (14-of-26, 183 yards). He finished the season 41-of-82 for 618 yards and six touchdowns. At Milford Mill Academy, he threw for 4,500 yards and 45 touchdowns over his final two seasons, leading the team to a 14-0 record and MPSSAA 2A State Championship as a junior.
