Derrell Farrar is a 6'1", 225-pound linebacker who transferred to Liberty from Appalachian State. During his three seasons at App State (2022-24), he appeared in 18 games and compiled 51 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, and 1.5 sacks. In 2023, he played in all 14 games and finished with 39 tackles and 2.5 tackles for a loss. After joining Liberty in 2025, Farrar started nine of 11 games and led the Flames with 71 total tackles (38 solo) while adding 4.0 tackles for a loss and one sack. He earned CUSA All-Conference honorable mention and Phil Steele and Athlon Sports CUSA Preseason All-Conference second-team selections for 2026.
