Mason King is a running back from Centralia, Illinois, who attended Centralia HS before playing at Illinois State. He began his college career at Northern Illinois in 2021, recording 67 yards on 17 carries with a touchdown. After transferring to Illinois State, King earned 2023 Missouri Valley Football Conference Newcomer of the Year honors following a breakout season in which he appeared in 10 games, rushed 150 times for 983 yards and 14 touchdowns, and averaged 6.6 yards per carry. He scored five games with over 100 rushing yards, including 170 yards with three touchdowns against Western Illinois. In 2025, King appeared in three games for the Redbirds, recording nine carries for 38 yards. He now transfers to Kent State as a graduate student.
