Nate Sims is a true freshman wide receiver for the Kansas Jayhawks from Ottawa, Kansas. A 3-star recruit rated No. 9 overall in Kansas, Sims played for Ottawa High School under head coach Dutton Abram. As a junior in 2024, he caught 27 passes for 609 yards and scored 7 receiving touchdowns, while also rushing 24 times for 233 yards and 4 touchdowns. He recorded 2 kick-return touchdowns and 12 pass breakups on defense that season. A multi-sport athlete, Sims holds the Kansas 4A State record in the 200 meters and broke a 33-year-old school record in the 100 meters in track.
