Nakwaine Carter is a defensive tackle from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who attended Southmoore High School. As a recruit, he earned 3-star status from recruiting services and ranked as the No. 10 prospect in Oklahoma according to Rivals. At Southmoore, Carter played under head coaches Brett Jones and Jake Monden as the SaberCats posted a 6-6 record and qualified for the OSAA Class 6A playoffs in 2025. He also competed in wrestling, compiling a 26-14 record at 285 pounds. Carter selected Kansas over offers from Iowa State, Houston, Kansas State, Utah, and others. He is a true freshman for the Jayhawks.
