Brandon Schmelzle is a safety for the Kansas Jayhawks listed at 6'2" and 205 pounds. The Axtell, Kansas native graduated from Axtell High School, where he was a three-star recruit who played quarterback and cornerback. At Axtell, Schmelzle was named 2023 8M-II Defensive Player of the Year and threw three touchdowns while rushing for two more in the 2024 State Championship victory.
