Nick Herman is a running back for James Madison. The Chicago native attended St. Rita High School, where he recorded 1,143 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 156 carries and helped the team reach the 7A state final as a senior. Herman transferred to James Madison following his freshman season at Drake, where he appeared in all 12 games with four starts. He accumulated 144 carries for 1,034 rushing yards and six touchdowns while averaging 7.2 yards per rush, adding 13 receptions for 120 yards. Herman earned FCS Freshman All-American honors and Pioneer League Offensive Freshman of the Year.
