Jackson McCarter is a running back from Bristow, Virginia, who attended Patriot High School. During his prep career, he rushed for 3,990 yards and 63 touchdowns while averaging nearly 9.0 yards per carry. As a junior, he earned First Team All-Region honors and was named 2023 Cedar Run District Offensive Player of the Year. McCarter made his college debut with two carries against Georgia Southern on September 27. In 2025, he appeared in three games, recording four carries for 18 rushing yards. His longest run came versus App State on November 15, when he had a 13-yard rush. McCarter is a returning reserve back for James Madison.
