Ryan Fitzgerald is a true freshman quarterback at Iowa who was redshirted during the 2025 season without appearing in game action. The 6'2", 221-pound signal caller from Northfield, Illinois, attended Loyola Academy, where he lettered two years and earned two all-conference honors. As a junior, he completed 136 of 214 passes for 2,056 yards and 20 touchdowns with one interception while also rushing 107 times for 634 yards and 14 touchdowns, leading his team to a 14-0 record. In his senior year, Fitzgerald completed 146 of 209 passes for 1,779 yards and 25 touchdowns with three interceptions, adding 76 rushing attempts for 354 yards and one touchdown in a 12-2 season. Fitzgerald is a pre-business major and the son of former Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald.
