Caleb Schmidt is a long snapper from Chaska, Minnesota who transferred to Iowa State from Minot State. At Chaska High School, he earned all-district honors at middle linebacker with 47 tackles, including three for loss, across nine games. During his time at Minot State, Schmidt appeared in 11 games in 2024, recording four tackles and one fumble recovery, including two tackles versus Winona State and a fumble recovery against Bemidji State. In 2025, he played in 10 games with one tackle and was named to the NSIC All-Academic Team. Schmidt, listed at 6'3" and 225 pounds, holds jersey number 46 for the Cyclones.
