Caden Matson is a safety for Iowa State from Humboldt, Iowa. A redshirt senior standing 6'0" and weighing 200 pounds, Matson majors in agricultural business. In 2025, he appeared in all 12 games and made his first career start at safety against Oklahoma State, finishing the season with 15 tackles. He recorded seven tackles in that finale and three stops in a win at TCU. During his 2024 campaign, Matson played in all 14 games primarily on special teams and returned a blocked punt 25 yards for a touchdown against Baylor, the first such return for a score by a Cyclone since 2004.
