AJ Petersen is a tight end for Iowa State, standing 6'1" and weighing 225 pounds. The redshirt junior from Long Grove, Iowa, prepped at North Scott High School, where he earned 2022 IPSWA Class 4A First-Team All-State honors after recording 45.5 tackles, including 11 for a loss, and five sacks in his final season. Petersen redshirted in 2023 before appearing in two games during 2024, seeing action against Arkansas State and Baylor. He is a member of the 2025 squad and has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll twice.
