Patrick Mahoney III is a long snapper for the Illinois Fighting Illini. The 6'2", 215-pound redshirt junior from Northbrook, Illinois, attended Glenbrook North High School, where he was a three-year letterwinner and four-year Honor Roll member under head coach Matt Purdy. He also competed in baseball for three seasons. Mahoney redshirted in 2023 and was Academic All-Big Ten in 2024 without appearing in games. In 2025, he appeared in all 13 contests handling snaps on field goals and extra points, earning 2025 Sophomore Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honors.
