Murphy Clement is a running back for the Illinois Fighting Illini who transferred from West Virginia on January 2, 2025. A native of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Clement played high school football at Martinsburg under head coach Britt Sherman. As a senior, he recorded 1,110 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns while also throwing for 1,673 passing yards and 19 passing touchdowns. He led Martinsburg to a West Virginia Class AAA state title and earned state championship game MVP honors. Clement was named the 2023 West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year and received All-State recognition. He redshirted during the 2024 season at West Virginia and joined Illinois with four years of eligibility remaining. From Martinsburg · Martinsburg, WV.
