Mason Muragin is a 6'4", 250-pound JACK from Macomb, Michigan, who attended De La Salle High School. A three-star recruit in the 2023 class, he set program records including 70.5 career tackles for loss and 29.5 career sacks. He was named 2022 Metro Detroit Defensive Player of the Year and helped De La Salle win two Division 2 state championships. Muragin redshirted in 2023 and sat out 2024 due to injury. In 2025, he earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and made his Illinois debut against Western Illinois on August 29, appearing in two games. Now a redshirt junior, he is returning to the roster.
