Bio

Sione Fotu is a linebacker for Houston who transferred from Utah. The Salt Lake City native played five games as a freshman in 2020 before missing the 2021-22 seasons on a church mission. He returned to compete in 2023 and 2024, appearing in 12 and 8 games respectively. In his first season with the Cougars in 2025, Fotu played in all 13 games while starting 12 at the mike position. He recorded 53 total tackles, including 26 solo stops, 2 quarterback hurries, 0.5 sacks, and 0.5 tackles for loss. Fotu led the Big 12 with three fumble recoveries and earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on September 29. From Bingham HS · Salt Lake City, UT.
