Luke Carney is a quarterback from Mesquale, TX who attended Dallas Christian School, where he was a three-star prospect and won four consecutive TAPPS state titles. He threw for 10,787 yards and 111 touchdowns while rushing for 3,119 yards and 42 touchdowns in his high school career, earning Dave Campbell's Texas Football Private School QB of the Year and Blue-Grey All-America honors. Carney spent the 2025 season at Syracuse, appearing in four games before redshirting. He completed 5 of 7 passes for 22 yards and rushed for 28 yards across his appearances, including a rushing touchdown in his collegiate debut against Colgate on September 12, 2025. He transferred to Houston for the 2026 season.
