Liam Dougherty is a junior punter for the Houston Cougars who hails from Geelong, Victoria and attended St. Joseph's College. In his freshman season (2024), he appeared in all 12 games and recorded 18 punts inside the 20-yard line with a 41.9 yards per punt average, earning Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week honors on November 4. As a sophomore (2025), Dougherty appeared in all 13 games, punting 53 times for 2,336 yards at a 44.1 yards per punt clip while placing 18 punts inside the 20-yard line, ranking sixth in the Big 12.
