Khalil Barnes is a safety from Athens, Georgia who attended North Oconee High School before playing at Clemson. As a high school senior, he was the composite recruiting rankings four-star prospect ranked #399 nationally and #21 among athlete prospects. At Clemson, Barnes recorded 41 tackles, six pass breakups, three forced fumbles and three interceptions as a freshman while appearing in all 13 games with seven starts, earning First-Team Freshman All-American honors from recruiting services, the FWAA and recruiting services. As a sophomore, he totaled 60 tackles, five pass breakups and four interceptions in 14 games while helping the Tigers to a 10-4 record and ACC Championship. In his junior year, Barnes registered 46 tackles and five pass breakups in 10 games with nine starts. He transferred to Georgia in winter 2026.
