Jaylen Mbakwe is a left cornerback for Georgia Tech, standing 6'0" and weighing 195 pounds. The junior transfer from Alabama was rated a five-star prospect and ranked No. 2 overall in the 2024 recruiting class. At Clay-Chalkville High School in Clay, Alabama, Mbakwe played multiple positions before moving to quarterback as a senior in 2023, when he recorded over 3,000 yards of total offense and 43 touchdowns. He was named MVP of the state title game that year after combining for 282 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-28 victory over Sarland.
