Jakyri Jones is a 5'10", 195-pound defensive back for Georgia Southern. A native of Monroe, GA, he attended Monroe Area High School, where he earned two first-team all-state selections and three first-team all-region honors. Jones began his college career at GMC, recording 14 tackles and an interception in seven games during 2023-24, then 48 tackles with 5.0 for loss in 12 games the following year. In 2025-26 with Southeastern Louisiana, he appeared in 13 games with 10 starts, tallying 75 tackles (8.0 for loss), three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. He transferred to Georgia Southern in January and earned Dean's List honors in spring with a GPA above 3.50.
