Alex Smith, a 6'6" punter from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, joined Georgia Southern in January 2023 after graduating from Caulfield Grammar School. The business management major has started for three consecutive seasons, earning All-Sun Belt Conference recognition each year. In 2025, Smith recorded 56 punts for 2,397 yards at a 42.8-yard average with 14 downed inside the 20-yard line and a long of 55 yards. He was named third-team All-Sun Belt and fourth-team All-Sun Belt by Phil Steele, and received Ray Guy Award All-Star of the Week honors for his performance against Southern Miss.
