A native of Jacksonville, Florida, he attended Mandarin High School, where he recorded 451 completions for 7,197 passing yards and 75 touchdowns with a 59.3% completion percentage. Jones was rated a four-star recruit in the class of 2025 and named an Elite 11 Finalist. During the 2025 season, he appeared in two games, completing 21-of-35 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
