During his high school career, Kennon recorded 48 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, and two interceptions across 22 games as a junior and senior. In his senior season, he registered 15 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, and one interception while helping lead Booker to the 3A state semifinals.
