Greg Gaines III is a 6'3" wide receiver from Tampa, Florida, who played his prep career at Tampa Bay Tech before joining Iowa State in 2022. After redshirting that season and appearing in five games in 2023, Gaines transferred to Rhode Island. In 2024, he started 13 of 14 games and recorded 603 receiving yards on 50 receptions with three touchdowns. During the 2025 season, he appeared in all 14 contests as a starter, accumulating 1,018 receiving yards and four touchdowns while earning CAA All-Conference Second Team honors. He recorded two games with 100+ receiving yards, including a career-high 153 yards with two touchdowns against UAlbany on October 18.
