Tyson Rooks is a 6'4", 215-pound safety from St. Simons Island, Georgia, who played at Glynn Academy under Head Coach Rocky Hildago. A three-star recruit in the 2022 class, Rooks spent three seasons at Illinois before transferring to Florida Atlantic in January 2026. At Illinois, he appeared in all 12 regular-season games as a redshirt junior in 2025, recording five tackles and one pass breakup while earning Academic All-Big Ten honors. During his redshirt sophomore year in 2024, Rooks played in seven games with two solo tackles and one interception. He currently serves as a redshirt senior for the Owls.
