Kam Herring is a 6'1", 180-pound defensive back from Memphis, Tennessee who attended Collierville High School. As a prep player, he recorded 33 tackles (19 solo), seven interceptions, and 18 passes defended across 21 games while earning Region 8-6A All-Region honors and an invitation to the Liberty Bowl High School All-Star Game. Herring spent his freshman season at UTEP in 2024 before transferring to East Central at the JUCO level in 2025, where he added four pass breakups and 15 tackles. He rejoined Division I in December 2025, joining Florida Atlantic as a sophomore.
