Kelton Smith is a 6'4", 310-pound defensive lineman from Gaffney, South Carolina, who verbally committed to East Carolina on June 15, 2025. Recruited by Roy Tesh, Smith officially enrolled early at ECU in January 2026. During his senior season at Gaffney High School, he appeared in 11 games, recording 25 tackles (13 solo) and 6.5 tackles for loss. A three-star prospect, Smith began his prep career at Oakbrook Prep in Spartanburg, where he played tight end, running back, and defensive line as a junior in 2024.
