Jaylen Carl is a defensive end for Duke who stands 6'4" and weighs 250 pounds. A native of High Point, North Carolina, Carl lettered three years at Southwest Guilford High School under coach Marlon White. As a senior, he recorded 92 tackles, 23.0 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, and two blocked field goals, earning all-state, all-area, and Metro 4A all-conference honors along with the Jim Coggins Athlete of the Year award. He was selected to the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game and the 2023 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. Carl has appeared in two games for the Blue Devils, logging one snap in each. He is a returning sophomore majoring in sociology with a certificate in markets and management.
