Derrick Brown Jr. is a linebacker for Duke standing 6'2" and weighing 225 pounds. The Waxhaw, North Carolina native attended Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut before enrolling at Duke in January 2024. He was rated a three-star prospect by recruiting services, ranking as the No. 10 and No. 11 prospect in Connecticut respectively. Brown appeared in one game as a true freshman in 2024 against Elon, recording two tackles across six snaps. He played in one contest during the 2025 season at Connecticut, logging one snap. Through two career games, he has tallied two tackles and seven total snaps played. He is currently a redshirt sophomore majoring in sociology with a certificate in markets and management.
