Jerome Carter III is a 6'1", 195-pound safety who joined Clemson as a transfer in 2026. The Lake City, Florida native played 25 games across two seasons at Old Dominion from 2024–25, recording 98 tackles, six interceptions, and three pass breakups. In 2025, his sophomore year, Carter appeared in 13 games with 12 starts and accumulated 75 tackles along with a school-record six interceptions, earning second-team All-Sun Belt honors. His six interceptions tied for second-most in the FBS that season. As a true freshman in 2024, he played all 12 games and posted 23 tackles and a pass breakup.
