MJ Cannon is a 6'3", 210-pound cornerback from Evanston, Illinois, who attended Evanston Township High School before playing college football at Illinois State and Bowling Green. At Illinois State (2023–24), he appeared in 24 games and compiled 123 career tackles, six interceptions, and 19 passes defended, earning second-team All-MVC honors in 2024 with 83 tackles and 13 PBUs that season. In 2025 at Bowling Green, Cannon started all 12 games and was named Third Team All-MAC, recording two interceptions, two sacks, and a fumble recovery among his defensive contributions. He transfers to Cincinnati as a redshirt senior.
