Jonathan Thompson is a 6'2", 228-pound weakside linebacker for Cincinnati who arrived as a consensus three-star recruit from St. Francis De Sales High School in Columbus, Ohio. After redshirting in 2022, Thompson appeared in all 12 games as a redshirt freshman in 2023, starting four contests and recording 21 tackles with four tackles for loss and five quarterback hurries. In 2024, he played in 11 games with four starts, posting 49 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and three pass breakups. Thompson returned in 2025 as a redshirt senior, appearing in all 13 games with nine starts and leading the team with 8.5 tackles for loss while posting 32 solo tackles among 67 total stops.
