Matthias Leach is a 6'3" safety from Fort Worth, Texas, who joined BYU as a 3-star prospect with an 85 composite rating. Before enrolling, he recorded 17 tackles and 6.0 tackles for loss during his senior season in 2023, earning three Academic All-District honors. As a junior in 2022, Leach posted 10 tackles, registered an interception, and scored a receiving touchdown. He also handled punting duties across two seasons with 35 punts and competed in track and field, ranking No. 5 as a high school triple jumper in Texas with a personal-best jump of seven feet. Leach, a redshirt sophomore, is pursuing a degree in Exercise Science and returns for the 2025 season.
