Jacob Merritt is a right tackle from Northville, Michigan, who majors in communication. He transferred to Buffalo after spending three seasons at Michigan State, where he was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. As a high school prospect, Merritt was ranked among the top 100 overall players in Michigan's Class of 2022 by recruiting services and earned MHSFCA All-Region Team honors. In 2025, his redshirt-junior season, he appeared in one game.
