Elijah Holmes is a quarterback from Charlotte, NC who attended Olympic High School, where he threw for 1,253 yards and 11 touchdowns and helped lead the Trojans to a conference championship in 2023. Holmes transferred to Buffalo after three seasons at Wingate University, where he served as the Bulldogs starter in 2025. That season he completed 3,040 passing yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions, while adding 290 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
