Jelani Watkins is a 5'11", 163-pound wide receiver from LaPlace, Louisiana, who attended Atascocita High School in Texas. A 4-star recruit ranked 167th nationally in the 2024 class, he also competed in track and field, winning two Texas UIL 6A 200-meter state titles as a sophomore and junior. Watkins redshirted as a true freshman at LSU in 2024, appearing in two games without recording statistics. He transferred to Arkansas and saw action in three games during the 2025 season, catching two passes for 21 yards against Southeastern Louisiana on September 20. Watkins also competes in track for LSU, earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors in his second meet.
