Paul Risper is a safety for Arkansas State. The 6-1, 173-pound true freshman from Macon, Georgia, attended Westside High School, where he accumulated 70 tackles and a tackle for loss during his senior season. He also recorded two fumble recoveries and contributed 26 receptions for 261 yards with two touchdowns. As a passer, he completed 8 of 16 attempts for 142 yards and a score, while adding 153 kick return yards for 767 all-purpose yards in his final high school campaign. In his junior year, Risper posted 44 tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception. He carries a 3.8 GPA and earned an associate degree during high school.
