Albert Smith III is a 6'1", 225-pound left defensive end from Terrytown, Louisiana, who attended Ponchatoula High School. A consensus three-star recruit in the 2024 class, he was ranked No. 24 in Louisiana by recruiting services and No. 30 by recruiting services. During his 2024 freshman season, Smith appeared in three games while maintaining his redshirt, including the Big 12 Championship victory over Iowa State, and recorded one tackle. In 2025, he has registered five total tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one pass defensed while returning as a redshirt sophomore.
