Colton Phares is a redshirt junior linebacker for App State standing 6'2" and weighing 225 pounds. A native of Beaufort, South Carolina, he redshirted in 2023 before appearing in 11 games in 2024 at both safety and linebacker. In 2025, Phares started all 13 contests and led the Mountaineers with 101 tackles while adding 9.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, two sacks, and one forced fumble. He was named All-Sun Belt second team and earned preseason All-Sun Belt first team honors for 2026.
