James Roe is a long snapper from Kennesaw, Georgia, who attended North Cobb High School where he earned first-team all-region honors at his position and honorable mention all-region at tight end as a senior. He was rated a 4.5-star long snapper by Kohl's Snapping. Roe played two seasons at Toledo before transferring to Wisconsin. In 2024, his freshman year, he appeared in all 13 games as the team's long snapper and was named to the All-Freshman team. He recorded two tackles and helped Toledo achieve a perfect 37-for-37 on extra point attempts while contributing to a top-five MAC punting average of 41.6 with no blocked punts. During the 2025 sophomore campaign, Roe played in all 13 games at long snapper, making two tackles and recovering one fumble.
