Troy Fischer is a linebacker for the West Virginia Mountaineers standing 5'11" and weighing 225 pounds. A native of Mineral, Virginia, Fischer played fullback at Louisa High School, where he recorded eight touchdowns during his senior season and was named team captain. He helped lead the Lions to three district championships and one regional quarterfinal appearance, earning all-district second team honors at tight end. Fischer initially played tight end at Christopher Newport before joining West Virginia, where he redshirted. In 2025 as a redshirt junior, he added depth at long snapper but did not see game action.
