Ryan Ward is a 6'4", 240-pound tight end from Rutherford, New Jersey, who transferred to West Virginia from North Carolina. At Rutherford High School, he earned USA Today All-New Jersey honors as a senior, recording 24 receptions for 654 yards and nine touchdowns alongside 13 carries for 49 yards and five touchdowns. Ward played in nine games during his 2024 season at North Carolina under coach Mack Brown. In 2025, his first year with the Mountaineers, he appeared in 10 games across 321 plays and caught six passes for 41 yards with one touchdown. He recorded a season-high two catches for 20 yards against TCU and returned a kickoff 12 yards against Robert Morris.
