Malachi Thompson is a 6'4" wide receiver from Charleston, West Virginia, who attended Nitro High School. Playing under coach Boom McKinney, Thompson earned two-time All-State First Team honors and was named the 2024 Randy Moss Award winner as the state's top high school receiver. Over his high school career spanning 35 games, he compiled 214 receptions for 4,537 yards and 66 touchdowns, averaging 21.2 yards per catch. As a senior, Thompson recorded 64 catches for 1,373 yards and 21 touchdowns while helping Nitro finish 12-2 and reach the Class AAA playoff championship game.
